Diva's Dish #003: Flooring isn't boring!
I recently visited my favorite flooring store, Floorscapes, to meet with my two people, Joe and Beth Gonya. Joe is a salesman extraordinaire and his wife, Beth, works on scheduling of sub-contractors. I always enjoy my visits to this awesome showroom, owned by Bill Burrell.

I’ve been looking for wood flooring for my own home and have been discouraged with the price point of real wood. Not because it’s outlandish; I just have so many projects going on at my house that I need to make my dollar stretch as far as I can.

Joe showed me a great new product that I couldn’t wait to share with you! It is vinyl flooring called Konecto – but it is definitely not your standard vinyl flooring. Konecto is a waterproof, floating, glueless locking flooring system that installs easily over most existing surfaces. The product has a 25-year residential warranty and a 10-year warranty in commercial application. You can read more about it on their website: http://www.konectousa.com/main.html.

I am not easily impressed with vinyl flooring, although it has come a long way since the apartment grade sheet vinyl (currently in my little tract home...but not for long!). I fell in love with the Walnut colored plank. The price point for this product is amazing – only $3.50 a square foot. Since it is so easy to install, I will do it myself and save thousands of dollars. You will also need to purchase a “pad”, but that is also an inexpensive item.

Floorscapes has a few colors installed in their upstairs showroom, check it out! Make sure you ask for Joe Gonya – he is a hoot!
